Top Competition: The girls 400 meters pitted two of the fastest girls in state history – Bettendorf and Briscoe – and didn't disappoint. Bettendorf edged Briscoe in a photo finish 55.98 to 55.99 as both of them made the US top 100. Record-breakers: Although Kaeo came in with the fastest time in the state in the 1,500 (4:02.49), he decided to focus on the 3,000 instead. That opened the door for Jac Hebert, who broke the meet record in the event held by Pierce Murphy (2011) with 4:01.23. He did have someone to run with, however. Davis Kaahanui of KS-Kapalama finished a closed second in 4:03.46. Results:
